Friends, followers, and trail builders, we resume our work on the “Southern Loop” this Saturday. Our last session was awesome, please checkout our photos. We’ll be parking at the park access road’s switchback. You’ll see our signs. Sessions are the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.

Mount Vernon Trail Builders was one of four participants in the Skagit Valley Food Co-Op‘s Token for Tomorrow program. This program raised $220.30 for our organization. Thank you to the Co-Op and those of you who contributed to our program.

We had 16 volunteers turn out for a great work session on July 23rd. It was a beautiful day and we accomplished a lot. During our last session gravel was distributed down the service road in order to help make it a little less muddy. The weather was great and the wildflowers were in bloom.

Our plan is to focus on the Service Road, which connects the park access road to the top of the trail Huff-N-Puff, putting in drains and graveling. We’re going to finish up early so we can go to the Big Rock Café & Grocery. This Saturday we will be putting the finishing touches on our La-Z-Boy drainage projects. The third bridge was built last session. Come on out and see it. The Esteps have also said they will be bringing their soup at lunchtime, always a trail builder favorite.
