Trail Update: Photos from our trail day with the Mountaineers GoHike Team.

Skagit Trail Builders welcomed the Mountaineers GoHike Team for a day of building trail on May 23, 2026.
Norlum Trail, Port of Skagit SWIFT Center Campus.

Saturday, May 23, 2026… 36 volunteers gave 91.8 hours!

The day started out a little cloudy but warmed up to a beautiful spring day. Volunteers enjoyed the sunlight filtering through the delicate green leaves as they worked on final capping and restoration of Norlum Trail.

Mountaineers GoHike Course Participants joined us for a day a trail stewardship, helping us accomplish more than we expected!

Our next work party is scheduled for June 13, 2026. With a little help from our awesome community of volunteers, we will finish the first segment of Norlum Trail.

Norlum Trail and Spike's Trail create a temporary loop
The first segment of Norlum Trail is nearly complete. Work to extend the trail to
Goat Hill is tentatively scheduled for fall 2026. Spike’s Trail will remain unimproved (no trail capping or restoration work). It was cleared to create a temporary loop for hikers to use over the summer of 2026.
