Trail Update: More culverts set and a fresh view of the creek!

We must admit, when we started this build season (on Sept 10) we were worried that the community wouldn’t show up. The pandemic had drastically affected peoples lives and ability to volunteer. But, THEY DID SHOW UP! (Woot-woot!!) On Sept 24, 2022 we enjoyed the pleasant company and cheerful hard work of 16 volunteers, including a few new faces. We appreciate everyone’s support and involvement in this community trail project!

So, here’s what we accomplished:

  • Cleared blackberry brambles to open up a large grassy area and view of the creek
  • Laid landscape cloth, set base rock and placed 4 more culverts
  • Moved a whole lot of rock and gravel to build up the section of trail prone to flooding

What’s next? The rainy season is looming and our goal is to finish this section of elevated trail by the end of October.

Our next two work parties are scheduled for October 8 & 22. We hope you’ll join us in creating this amazing community asset. We’ve got work for all ages, sizes, abilities, and skills. Everyone is welcome!
