Trail Update: Join us for our final work party on the Thompson Pond Loop Trail on April 25, 2026

🧡 Finishing the Thompson Pond Loop Trail 🧡

Join us Saturday, April 25, 2026 for a day of rock, rakes, and restoration!

About the Project

The Thompson Pond Loop Trail at Olmsted Park is our latest addition to the Northern State Trail System.

This easy 1/3 mile loop around the pond is hard-packed, mostly level and built to sustain in wet weather. It connects park users to the fishing dock, William Benefield Memorial Bridge, and Quarry, Brickyard, and Winfield Trails.

Our objectives for April 25 :

  1. Surface the trail with compacted rock sand.
  2. Build a beautiful rock retaining wall.
  3. Remove invasive species in the tree grouping above the rock wall.
  4. And lots of miscellaneous clean-up!
