Trail Update: Forty-eight Volunteers at our March 23 work party.

Straight up, friends….the weather was terrible! Rain, rain, and lots more rain.

But, we had a great crew and made good progress on Hill Creek Trail.

Students and parents from the Kids-N-K9s 4H Club worked on digging blackberries in the wildflower meadow (aka “The Big Meadow”). They worked through the wet weather with songs and laughter.

Four power carrier drivers delivered ballast rock to the trail interior where the rain showed us where we need drainage work the most. To avoid damaging unfinished trail (and some tight, muddy corners) our drivers took the long way to the work sites, a nearly 2-mile round trip. They got their steps in, for sure!

We had a team working on trail side restoration. They transplanted ferns and spread organic material to make the trail look like its always been there.

In total, we had 48 volunteers. That’s our all-time record!

We are so grateful for the generosity and engagement of our community. This trail system is for the everyone to enjoy and we couldn’t create it without you.

Thank you!
