We are expecting 50 volunteers for our Saturday, March 23 work party! That’s a record for us!
We are going to split the crew up into 6-7 teams. Here’s the plan:
- Digging blackberry sprouts in the lower meadow next to Hansen Creek
- Digging blackberry sprouts in the big meadow (carefully so we don’t do damage to the wildflowers).
- Preparing the roughed-in portion of trail for rock by digging roots and leveling soil.
- Laying ballast rock on new sections of trail.
- Creating drainage and laying rock on muddy sections of trail.
- Power Carrier Drivers! (We need 5 people).
- Loading the power carriers with rock and gravel at the trailhead.
Meet at the corner of Hub Dr and Planters Rd (Northern State Hospital campus) at 8:45 to sign in and grab a coffee.
We will hold our safety meeting and take the group photo at the Pump House Trail Head.
Bring lunch, water, and clothing for variable weather.
See you soon!
