Wind gusts and a few rain drops couldn’t keep our crew away from their favorite trail project!
We had another great day thanks to our marvelous community of volunteers. They showed up with open hearts and good humor, ready to learn, work hard, and make progress on this amazing community asset.
One team worked on the culvert site. It is now complete (enough) that we can drive over it to deliver rock to other sites that need drainage work.
A second team worked widening and leveling the trail to accomodate the power carriers. A third team worked on trail side restoration. A fourth team spread ballast on the section of trail that extends from the tree line into the Big Meadow.
We had four equipment drivers delivering rock and gravel from the trail head to the work sites (about a 1-mile round trip), significantly speeding up our progress.

Our next work party is March 23, 2024. We will be joined by Kids N K9s 4H Club.
Our plan is to continue our rock work, drainage, and trail side restoration projects. We will also have a team digging blackberry crowns where they are popping up among the wildflowers in the Big Meadow.
All ages and skills are welcome. We have work for everyone! Sign Up.
