Trail Update: Salmon Viewing from the Pump House Bridge

It’s Coho time and the Pump House Bridge is the perfect spot to view them as they make their way from Hansen Creek to Hill Creek, resting in the shallows near the bridge.

Every two years Coho Salmon make the long journey from the Pacific Ocean, up the Skagit River, to nesting locations in the gravel of smaller creeks and streams.

Coho Salmon are a protected species. Show your respect for these incredible creatures by keeping dogs (and yourselves) out of the water during spawning season.

While you are enjoying the view from the Dovetail and Pump House Bridges, remember that volunteers made those bridges possible!
