Trail Update: Beams for the North Bridge have been delivered

If you’ve walked past the Elk Trail in the last few days, you may have noticed two gigantic steel beams resting in the grass.

Those are the supports for the new bridge we are building this spring. The bridge will span Hill Creek and connect the Pump House Trail with Hill Creek Trail.

The design will be similar to the last two bridges we built, Dovetail Bridge and Pump House Bridge.

Work on the north bridge will happen simultaneously with the final work on Hill Creek Trail. As soon as the weather allows, we will build forms for the footings and begin pouring concrete.

In April, Skagit Alpine Club will be helping us out with the connector from Hill Creek Trail to the bridge.

We’ve got big goals for spring – we hope you’ll join us in creating this wonderful community resource!

The design of north bridge will be similar to the Pump House Bridge (pictured here).
