Sedro Woolley High School & Earth Club
Young volunteers really stepped up this year. This team (above) put in 13% of the year’s total volunteer hours. From left to right is Sativia, Mr. Turner, Isabella, RJ and Alex. Together they put in 90% of their team’s hours.
Mr. Turner (Bret to some) is our Youth Coordinator, and is one of our long time volunteers – going back to our early days at Little Mountain. Sativia and RJ are both interns, they help us lead and coordinate our sessions.
Groups volunteering is nothing new. They can be school clubs, other school districts, civic organizations, other nonprofits, church groups, businesses, and scout groups…
Teams that have won in the past include Job Corps Students and Staff and the Conway location of NOLS – the National Outdoor Leadership School.
This year’s Top Group had nearly twice the hours of the second place team, and more than twice the hours of all of last year’s groups combined.
We invite volunteers of all ages, sizes, and abilities to get involved.
No experience is needed.
Happy Holidays!
