Trail Update: Getting Hill Creek Trail ready for summer hikes

We accomplished a lot at our May 27 work party!

We spread and compacted fine gravel on the section of trail that leaves the lower meadow and climbs up to the plateau. Our crew also worked at the trail’s end shaping for drainage, smoothing curves, and filling in low spots.

Our goal is to extend the trail to the North Knoll (also called ‘Big Rock’ by some of our crew) before we break for summer. This will give summer visitors a destination instead of a dead end. Our contractor, Art, will continue to clear trail with the excavator in preparation for our fall work parties.

We only have three work parties until summer break – sign up today.
