Trail Update: Build Year Report 2024-2025

Our 2024-2025 Build Year was our best year yet.

We hosted 18 work parties engaging with 205 volunteers who donated over 4,000 hours of their time.

18% of our volunteer hours were contributed by youth under the age of 18!

25% of hours came from college and career-age people, 18-49.

57% of hours were given by community members over the age of 50.

Together, we built and improved 3.5 miles of multi-use trail. Nearly 200 hours was donated to the construction of Song Sparrow Bridge.

Now that our work at Northern State Recreation Area (NSRA) is nearly complete, we are excited to share our upcoming plans on Port of Skagit property.

This summer our leadership team will wrap up a few projects at NSRA, including installation of a wind phone.

On Sept 13, 2025 we will host our final volunteer work party in the park, celebrating with a Ribbon Cutting at Song Sparrow Bridge on Sept 19.

Our initiative on Port property kicks off on Sept 27, 2025 developing new multi-use trails on the west side of the SWIFT campus, making connections with Olmsted Park, Fruitdale Rd, Brickyard Creek Trail, and the Historic Hospital Campus.
