Our trail system at Northern State Recreation Area is on County and Port property. While our county-funded project isn’t directly impacted by the recent federal layoffs, we are feeling the ripple effects throughout our trail community. Many of our partners and mentors in the Forest Service and National Parks are facing job uncertainty, and funding for local recreation and conservation groups are at risk.
