We took the drone camera out last week to capture aerial footage of the Big Meadow on Hill Creek Trail. The new trail will route back through the meadow to create a loop.
The roof of an old barn is visible to hikers passing by the Big Meadow. What we saw from the air are other artifacts from the historic farm…a perfect circle of long grass, a long rectangle covered by blackberries, and a closer view of the barn being swallowed by briars.
The exact routing of the loop trail isn’t decided yet, but we are hoping to pass near these historic sites.
Our next volunteer work party is scheduled for January 13, 2024. Our goal is to extend the trail out of the forest into the Big Meadow.
